Day 2 at Telluride

Another wonderful ‘eye opener’ day; The true difference between informed consent and shared decision making. Just think about it;how much time do we spend before making the decision to purchase the outfit for a party. Yet, here we are, well meaning, educated, intelligent, ‘caring’ health care professionals, rushing the patient and families into agreement, where literally their lives are at stake!

Excited to be here

Until now I felt that my concerns for patient safety was a ‘lone voice in the wilderness’. I am excited to be among a group motivated, enthusiastic movers and shakers in the health care world and exchange practical ideas to transform health care to a HRO. Practicing transparency is going to be my biggest hurdle. As scary as it sounds, I am going to give it a try.
