Today was exhilarating! Starting with the breathtaking hike up to the falls and ending with Carol’s presentation. Today was also very emotional. However, it was by far the best day here. I will never forget the hike and all the amazing people I talked to and connected with. I still can’t believe how close we all are now; especially in just a few days. I am so grateful.
Today was even more amazing than day one. The mindfulness theme brought about a lot of self reflection and I realize now it is something I need to be more conscious of going forward.
I was particularly inspired by John Nance’s presentation and talk. His last story about the A1C speaking up and the outcome of that flight was amazing, it was the perfect way to end the day.
Today I fully appreciated the fact that there are both medical students and nurses here at the conference. I feel that I learned the most from talking to the nurses about their experiences in patient safety and quality. I especially appreciate this because I know that in the next three years of school I will not get an opportunity to work (and have such honest and open conversations) this closely with nurses again.
