Bye bye Marseille!

As we end our time in Marseille, I can’t believe how much I’ve learned! I am inspired to return home and work on improving the quality and safety of the patients that have bestowed their confidence in me.

I’ll try to create a great catch award at our clinic where we already do huddles, and try to improve the amount of event reports logged at my hospital. I’ll make sure to also practice my active listening skills!

Thanks to all the Faculty for giving us such a memorable experience, and to all my colleagues for sharing their incredible stories! I had a great time!

Day 2!

What an amazing day! I though about so many things I had probably never thought about!

Several points I’m taking home:
-Be the change… Or better yet, be Cliff Hughes!
-Informed consent is not about a signature! It’s about COMMUNICATION!!
– Always include the patient in the shared decision making process! “No decision about me, without me”
-Phrase to forbid in our hospitals: “This is the way we’ve always done it” 🙅🏻
*And probably my favorite: the quality improvement projects! Greatly inspired by what the other residents are doing in their areas! Started: it takes a village, persistence, teamwork, preplanning, and writing all along the way! 📝

Can’t wait for tomorrow, we are going on a hike!
